Liquid oil that gets tossed in trash carts attracts insects and rodents. When the trash gets crushed in the trucks, liquids leak out onto the ground. It doesn’t look good; and, it’s not great for the environment.
It's easy to protect your pipes from damage and protect the environment. Even a little oil down the drain can cause big problems for your pipes! Simply pour grease into a container once it has cooled. Let it solidify, then cover it and place it in the trash. (Tip: Kitty litter poured into cooled oil helps it solidify faster and better!)
Used cooking oil, fats and grease are considered household hazardous waste and can be safely disposed of at CWD X-treme Green Events and through our HHW & Used Electronics Door Side Collections. Please remember to be very careful handling hot oil.
