My daughter who is a Junior at Nolan:Hello, My name is Olivia Sganga. As a member of Girl Scout troop 1506, Longhorn Council, Colleyville, Texas I am working on my final project to attain my “Gold Award”. The Girl Scout "Gold Award" is equivalent to the more well-known “Eagle Scout” of the Boy Scouts, and is the final culmination of my 8 year journey with the Girl Scouts. The final step required me launch a project to help a non-profit entity. My project was approved by the National Girl Scout HQ. What I am seeking is your support. Project recipient: United States Veterans Administration’s Women’s Domiciliary - Bonham, Texas (VA Hospital) Project Overview: Every year hundreds of women veterans find themselves in need of temporary housing. The reasons for their needs vary, but generally circumstances in their lives have caused an urgent need for a safe place to live, on a temporary basis, while they work out any issues they have going on in their life. This 40 bed “safe” residence, managed by the United States Veterans Administration is located at the VA hospital in Bonham, Texas. The project is to provide each incoming new Veteran a “Basket of Essentials” to make their lives in the facility just a bit easier. The “essentials” are to include grooming suppliers, cleaning products and some small cold weather clothing items. The goal is develop 50 “Baskets of Essentials” How you can help Purchase goods to fill the “Baskets of Essentials” Here are ways to help: • By utilizing Amazon store, a “Basket of Essentials” registry has been created. By using the link below you will be directed to the “Olivia Sganga’s VA Hospital Basket of Essentials” registry. In that registry you will find already chosen items of need. Using the registry you basically pick some of the items, pay for them….and they will be shipped to Olivia Sganga’s home. - Purchase good from the list on your own. Mail to Olivia’s home address. 1612 Emerald Green Lane Keller, Texas 76248 Finally: • Please share this project on Facebook to your friends as many people would love to help serve our veterans. • Thank you. This project will make a difference in the lives of women who have served our country and who now need our help. • We will continue to receive donations up to March 31st, 2020 • When we deliver the baskets, we will publish the event on social media. This is link to wish list: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2OO5ET2WPANXN… Olivia Sganga [email protected] Project Interview with Bobbi Scoggins – Director of Volunteer Services at VA Hospital in Bonham, Texas: In a discussion with Ms. Scoggins she said “Yes, it would be nice to issue each of those items to new Veterans coming to the unit”. She went on to say “Typically they have very little if anything when they enter the program.” She also said “ I would say around 50 baskets would make a great impact for these Veterans coming into this program”. When asked about logistics and storage she said “ The baskets will be issued by the Social Workers in the domiciliary that handle new admissions to the units. They will have storage to accommodate.”

PLEASE ATTEND Post Acute Medical to present nurse education grant to disabled Navy Veteran. Allen, TX – Post Acute Medical Rehabilitation Hospital of Allen will host an event honoring disabled Navy Veteran, Jeremy Morel, for his selfless service to our country and recognize his perseverance throughout recent hardships he has faced. Jeremy will be presented with a $5,000.00 education grant to assist with fulfilling his dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. This event will take place at Post Acute Medical Rehabilitation Hospital of Allen: Friday January 10th at noon. 1001 Raintree Cir. - Allen, TX - 75013 This Veteran grant was inspired by a chance meeting between brand new Uber driver and an Uber user. During his visit to Dallas, owner and president of Post Acute Medical, LLC, Anthony Misitano had the pleasure of meeting Uber driver Jeremy Morel. As they made their way to AT&T Stadium, Jeremy shared his story with Mr. Misitano, who was captivated by Jeremy’s positive attitude and unwillingness to give up on his dream of becoming a nurse. Mr. Misitano was inspired and knew that he wanted to help this Veteran in some way. Mr. Misitano stated, “During the last month I have been reflecting on the success I’ve had personally, professionally, and my good fortune throughout my life. I spent a lot of time thinking about a way I could give back, and pay it forward, and then this Uber ride happened. After hearing his story, I knew I had to find a way to help him.” Post Acute Medical has a great military affairs division dedicated to supporting and advocating for military Veterans by connecting them with a multitude of services and programs. This event is another example of how passionate the company is toward our military and those who have served. PAM Rehabilitation hospital of Allen’s CEO, Jenny Beuerlein, will be hosting the event along with Vice President of Military Affairs, Dan Blasini. Please address any questions to: Jenny Beuerlein, Chief Executive Officer Post Acute Medical Physical Rehabilitation Hospital of Allen 1001 Raintree Cir. - Allen, TX - 75013 214.418.3216 C 972.908.2009 O [email protected]

All nonprofit and service organizations will be provided with a free booth space. I've provided the invitation below. By clicking the link, you can find more information about the event and register to participate. Feel free to forward this and share it with others in your network. Please see the link below for more information and to register.
