#WearBlueDay 💙💙💙

Medical City Children's Hospital pediatric trauma team is wearing blue today with Dallas Children's Advocacy Center to show our commitment to raising awareness for child abuse during child abuse prevention month. These colleagues are part of the team that ensures our frontline workers are equipped to recognize and respond to potential child abuse and provide safety to our patients.

According to the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc., some indicators of child abuse may be: unexplained injuries, changes in mood or behavior, returning to earlier behaviors, fear of certain places or people, changes in eating, changes in sleeping, changes in school performance and attendance, lack of personal care or hygiene, risk-taking behaviors, inappropriate s*xual behaviors.

To report known or suspected child abuse, please call Child Protective Services at 800-252-5400, make a report online at https://bit.ly/39XZspi or call 911. #SaveJane #WearBlueDay

Family Advocates remove barriers between families and recovery from trauma. This can take the form of practical assistance for families in crisis, helping caregivers navigate the criminal justice system, providing children’s programming for siblings while one child and a caregiver attend a therapy session, and more.
