Yesterday, we honored one of our own fallen firefighters, Dylan Whitehead. But we could not have done it without the tradition of the brotherhood of the fire service. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Rockwall Honor Guard and to Assistant Chief Brett Schonfeld on the bagpipes of Lone Oak Fire. With your help, we were able to say, “Rest easy, Brother, we'll have it from here!” Thank you on behalf of the family and the department!! We would also like to Thank all of the departments and friends that came to show their support !

Words cannot express the sadness for the loss of one of our own last night in an off-duty accident , Fire Fighter Dylan Whitehead. His courage, selflessness, and sacrifice he would demonstrate daily only strengthen the fire department. He was a mentor to others without knowing, for his eagerness, to help and words of encouragement for them , he was a true leader. And as a first responder he would demonstrate every day the Bond of the brotherhood of the fire service few have the opportunity to experience. As we will forever honor his commitment to our community and his willingness to run toward danger to help those in need. Our thoughts and our prayers are with his family and friends.
