We have an urgent fight on our hands, friends.
Dallas Propositions S, T & U on the November ballot are a grave threat to so much that we hold dear in this town. If passed, these proposals would force deep budget cuts to fire, EMS, parks, streets, arts, and homelessness, among others.
This package, drafted and funded by a group of non-Dallas residents, may sound good at first. But it is nothing more than a chocolate-covered piece of rat poison.
Props S, T & U would force the city to immediately hire 900 cops. We all want more police, but this is not the way to do it, nor is it even possible.
When the city fails to meet that quota, the S, T & U package allows for anyone to sue the city over it, costing us millions in taxpayer funds.
