Early voting in the Nov. 7 election begins Monday! The ballot includes five City of Allen bond propositions, including Proposition E for new police facilities, which you will find at the very end of your ballot. If you want to learn more, Allen Police Chief Brian Harvey provided a virtual tour of our current police headquarters as part of the bond citizen input process. This video points out some of the challenges of the existing facility and explains how a new one would help meet current and future needs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoKBFkgHsqA

Allen voters will consider five propositions using $156.5 million in general obligation bonds on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023. Proposition E would provide funding for improvements to police facilities, including a new police headquarters facility and emergency dispatch office, costing $83 million. To learn more about Proposition E, go here: https://bit.ly/3QoMiGn.

Here's what you will see on the ballot for Proposition E: The issuance of $83,000,000 City of Allen, Texas General Obligation Bonds for police facilities, including a new police headquarters facility and emergency dispatch office and the imposition of a tax sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.

Because Allen is still growing and adding new properties to the tax roll, no tax rate increase is expected to be needed to repay the debt, even if voters approve all propositions. To learn more about the 2023 Bond Election, each proposition, or view FAQs, visit https://bit.ly/2023Bond.

We are grateful to have been provided the opportunity to find a home for 100 Hope Bags that were packaged by Motorola Solutions, here in Allen, in partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Hope Bags provide essential items to survivors of child victimization including abduction, abuse, and exploitation. The Los Rios Campus for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County were able to receive these Hope Bags and will put them to good use. Each bag carries the message from NCMEC: “We are here because you are out there.”
