Latina HERO Initiative Since the creation of the National LATINA Symposium in 2004, LATINA Style has been actively involved in the efforts the Department of Defense and the Services engage in to support Latinas serving in the military.

The LATINA Style HERO Initiative was created in the spirit of empowerment for our nation’s finest. The half day conference is specifically designed to prepare those men and women with a military background for interviews and jobs in Corporate America.

On September 10, LATINA Style Inc., the premier company addressing the needs of Latina professionals, civic leaders, entrepreneurs, college students and members of the Armed Services, in partnership with Parents Step Ahead (PSA), a non-profit community outreach initiative designed to increase parental involvement in a child’s educational development, celebrated the 11th Annual National LATINA Symposium, honoring Latina military and civilian personnel who through their service have enhanced the role of Latinas in their organizations. Honorary Chairwoman Congresswoman Grace Napolitano opened the program with remarks. A national platform for Latina professionals to address the most pressing issues affecting the Hispanic woman in the United States, the Symposium offered workshops that allowed participants to learn about issues such as: advancement in the workplace, successful leadership, global public service, applying military skills to everyday life and business, and professional development. Speakers included U.S. State Department representatives, the CIA, the FBI, the White House, General Motors, Kraft Foods, Nationwide Insurance, APCO Worldwide, and ETS.
