Beth Broodo, our Program Director and Clinician for Breast Cancer support, talks about a nervous first timer who came to her support group and left feeling uplifted and looking forward to the next meeting.
"So I really want to encourage you that if you are thinking about a support group, one that maybe deals more with emotions than details, try ours," she said.

World Cancer Day
On this World Cancer Day, we spread awareness of the importance of early cancer diagnosis and treatment, share support with those currently fighting a battle with cancer, and honor those who are no longer with us.
However, on this World Cancer Day, Beth Broodo, director of Binah Cancer Services, has a message for those who have fought the battle and won.
#throwbackthursday to last month's Coffee House Jam at PLAN - People Living Active Now! Members were able to enjoy an outdoor caroling session with friends and share a meal served by our incredible volunteers.
For some individuals struggling with severe and persistent mental illness, the holidays can be an especially difficult and lonely time. We are glad that PLAN provides a place of love, acceptance, and support all year round.

Michelle found JFS in September 2020 after her son Chance was called to the principal's office for biting another student. He was referred to JFS for counseling and though he was initially hesitant, he bloomed through play therapy. Michelle was inspired by her son's progress and started attending support groups to process her recent divorce.

Thank you to FOX 4 News for covering our Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Food Distribution this morning!
For the second year in a row doing this distribution in a drive-thru model, individuals and families were able to receive a turkey, vegetables, cranberry sauce, muffin and stuffing mixes, gravy, and more while staying safely in their cars at JFS.
We are grateful to our volunteers and staff for their hard work ensuring everyone can enjoy the holiday this Thursday!
