Good info for females preparing for the PFT change: https://fitness.usmc.mil/FPFT/default.aspx

The purpose of this website is to provide Marines information regarding the change in the female Marine PFT from Flexed Arm Hang to pull-ups. The website contains workout recommendations and other resources to assist with change adaptation. It will be updated frequently.

As I mentioned in a previous email, on Saturday, 26 January we will be conducting our first pool event of the year. See below for the details:

Rally Point: We will be meeting in the parking lot of TCC South right of I-20 near 35W (5301 Campus Drive, Fort Worth, TX. 76119).

Time: Be in the parking lot at TCC South no later than 1000 (which should mean 0945 to all of you). We will conclude the event sometime around 1300-1400.

Uniform: This will be a PT event, but I want all of you in long-sleeves and athletic/hiking pants as well as boots or athletic shoes. The events of the day will include those that could scratch up elbows and knees, and it will likely be cold. If you have been to OCS, you should be in woodland cammies and boots. If you are bringing a guest, and we highly encourage you to, please ask them to wear a plain white t-shirt in order to make it easier for us to identify who is in our pool and who is a guest. They can still wear a sweatshirt or long-sleeve of some kind, but please have them wear a white t-shirt over the top when they get there.

What to bring: A water source, and a signed copy of the hold-harmless agreement.

Diet: This will be a difficult PT session. It is very important that all of you are hydrated and have had healthy meals the day prior.

I look forward to seeing all of you, and I must reinforce that if you have been to OCS, are selected for OCS, or hope to be selected for OCS you must be there unless you have worked out an individual excuse for absence with me directly.

Semper Fidelis!

We will be running a PFT (Physical Fitness Test) this Friday, 24 February at 0700 at the office in Arlington. This PFT is NOT MANDATORY, but if YOU are in need of a PFT score for your application, or if you just want to see where you're at, we'll see you at the office Friday morning at 0700. MOTIVATE!!!

The website is up and finished! Check out www.dfwmarineofficer.com for some great info, including announcements of upcoming REQUIRED POOL FUNCTIONS, the NEW PT SCHEDULE, and other helpful documents and links to assist you in your goal of becoming an Officer of Marines!! Semper Fidelis-

I sent out a few emails in the last couple of weeks about the upcoming pool functions as well as the Pool PT schedule for this semester. If you are trained, contracted, hoping to contract, or just interested in what is going on in the Officer Selection Team, and you did not recieve these emails, hit me up with you email address either via facebook or at [email protected].

All Contracted Candidates, Candidates who have been to OCS at least once, and all interested in contracting this coming school year: We are having our annual Survivor's Picnic on Saturday, Sept 17th in Fort Worth. I expect all to attend. We will be grilling out, playing some frisbee and football, guest speaker (Maj. Camarillo), and filling out financial aid paperwork and annual certifications. Mark your calendars and spread the word!

Reminder: November 2-4 we will have Marine Aviator Captain Rick Birt on deck at Dallas Executive (formerly Red Bird) Airport with his twin-engine King Air aircraft. each person will be allowed to control the aircraft while in flight! Tell your friends, and call to reserve a slot. We are advertising heavily for this so don't delay!

Reminder: Saturday, 23 October is the next pool function. We will be learning and executing the O-Course. Be at the office no later than 0730. Its going to be a good time, good exercise, and will help you build important skills that will help you at OCS and TBS.

We will be moving our official posts and updates to this page rather than our facebook individual account starting soon...
