Rae's Hope

Rae's Hope Rae's Hope empowers girls to take charge of their lives and become productive members of their community.

We offer volleyball and life skills curriculum to ages 5-18 in South Dallas and the surrounding communities.

At Rae’s Hope, we want girls to feel prepared for life both on and off the court.

In this discussion, the girls are learning about household budgeting, meal planning, and grocery costs as they think through how to make thoughtful choices, stretch resources, and plan ahead.

These conversations help build financial literacy, problem-solving skills, and confidence that will support them for years to come.

Learning volleyball skills doesn’t have to feel repetitive. 💜🏐

By turning drills into relay races and team challenges, the girls stay active, engaged, and excited to participate while building ball control, communication, quick thinking, and teamwork skills.

Keeping things fun and varied helps the girls grow their skills while creating positive memories and connections along the way.

From whisper to confidence:

“Many girls come to Rae’s Hope speaking barely above a whisper.

“Through consistent practice, encouragement, and opportunities to speak with peers and in groups, they begin to build confidence in their voice.

“Over time, those same girls are raising their hands, sharing ideas, and demonstrating skills in front of others with confidence.

“These moments of growth reflect the power of a supportive environment where girls are encouraged to be seen, heard, and believed in.” --Moniqa Paullet, volunteer

At Rae’s Hope, we create space for girls to find their voice... and the courage to use it. With encouragement, practice, and support, they grow into confident speakers, leaders, and teammates.

Because every girl deserves to be heard.

Motivation Monday

“I can promise you that women working together—linked, informed, and educated—can bring peace and prosperity to this forsaken planet.” —Isabel Allende

There is power in connection. When we support one another, share knowledge, and grow together, we create change that reaches far beyond ourselves.

How can you lift up and collaborate with another girl or woman this week to create something positive together?

There’s a lot of learning happening during relay races, even when it just looks like fun. 💜

The girls are building teamwork, communication, perseverance, and confidence while staying active and cheering one another on. And during a busy testing season at school, moments like these give them a chance to release stress, laugh together, and recharge in a positive environment.

We believe joy, movement, and connection matter too.

Relay races, laughter, and lots of energy! 💜

As the school year winds down and end-of-year testing approaches, we work hard to keep our programming fun, active, and encouraging so the girls have a chance to move, laugh, connect with friends, and enjoy being kids without added stress.

Sometimes the best thing we can give girls is a safe space to play, smile, and just have fun together.

Trying new things isn’t always easy, but growth happens when girls keep showing up, practicing, and encouraging one another.

As the girls learn pickleball serves for the very first time, our volunteers cheer them on through every attempt, helping them build confidence, resilience, patience, focus, and the courage to keep trying even when something feels challenging.

By stepping outside their comfort zones and trying something new, the girls are building confidence that can carry into every area of life.

Testimoinal Tuesday

“O bravely shared with her peers, through tears during a small-group discussion, that she has been bullied every day of her life.

“But when she attended a leadership conference for high school girls, something powerful shifted.

“Despite being the youngest participant, O showed up with confidence, raising her hand for every question, eagerly sharing her thoughts, and stepping forward without hesitation. She didn’t wait to be called on. She chose to be seen and heard.

“Watching her go from quiet vulnerability to bold participation was incredible. In a new environment, with support and encouragement, she found her voice and boldly used it.

“And it’s a reflection of the confidence, courage, and self-belief she’s been building through her years with Rae’s Hope.”
