City of Dallas Department of Sanitation Services

TRASH PICK UP NOTES: There will be a delay in bulk trash and brush pickup this week.

Regular garbage and recycling pickup service will re-start on Monday (Feb. 22), following the normal collection schedule. Please place your roll carts at your usual collection point on your designated day and leave them there until they are collected. We anticipate higher than usual volumes next week, so there may be multiple trucks in your neighborhood as we work to catch up.

The “close the lid” policy is suspended next week. If you have an extra bag of garbage, place it in the cart even if the lid won’t close. If you have more, you may place up two additional bags of garbage beside the cart. No recycling material is allowed outside the blue cart.

THURSDAY UPDATE:  Limited operations will begin on Friday, servicing only areas that we were unable to collect last week.

Did anyone else get a code violation letter saying they have vegetation hanging over in the alley but don’t actually have vegetation over in the alley? And then I’m calling Code everyday and no one is calling back. It’s almost as if they didn’t even look before they sent the violation.
2914 Raleigh construction code violated EVERY week &weekend. 4cement trucks and a crew of 20men started @7a.m Saturday morning in a residential neighborhood. Dallas Code Compliance has been informed multiple times but apparently Field Brother Residential doent care about Dallas city code or the community they are building in.
We've started an initiative to get masks out to help local businesses and healthcare providers at cost. We even have subsidized masks for charities! The masks are currently available at our Carrollton warehouse. Message me for more details.

COVID 19 god punishment world need to confess
JJ Koch you guys opened Pawn Shops -- Now u have crowds of people lining up in front of these places (crowds of Black People for the most part) ---- this particular shop had groups of people in front of the store and then it has 6 customers in the store. I spoke with the assistant manger who claims that this store pawn shop is in compliance with The County's orders: People are seen (in front of the pawn shop) visibly sick and standing in a group (no space) there is no space in this store there is only about 12sq feet of customer space---- this Pawn Shop is the middle of South Dallas County which is the epicenter of covid-19 in Dallas County (Price is one of the idiots who thought this was a good idea----a good idea to spread death? 40 almost 40 percent of the closed covid-19 cases result in death--- which means 4 out 10 people are dying for this disease.... it is a shame and sham that you guys open pawn shop and check cashing stores in communities right before the government issued stimulus checks to poor working class people----this Pawn Shop needs to be closed immediate RIGHT NOW and find an alternate means of doing business... I have personally called and complained for a week,... and the Pawn Shop say they are okay and that A person has to come into the store (a disease infested store to pick up their items... they have no viable means for us to make payments online---- these places need to be ordered to stop spreading death to black people in Dallas and all people in Dallas County because people will leave these types of places and spread covid-19... I repeat this place has groups of people standing in front of the Pawn Shop and has only 12sq feet of customer spacei inside the pawn shop---but has 6 customer in the store at all times... ... only about 8210 S. What about them bed bugs
For the first time in the 10 years we have been in our home, D. Lewis did an alley sweep on Fall River Drive in East Dallas this week, only giving a week to fix any issues (which by the way, we did). My section of the alley has decorative monkey grass to keep the dirt from washing away. While out of town on the weekend, I received 2 citations, one for $286 for litter (because sanitation drops trash all over the place and refuses to pick it up), the other for $186 for "high grass" (the monkey grass). I walked the two streets that share the alley to see who all received citations. Very interesting statistics of who received citations. All the white home owners with nicer homes on my end of the street received one or more citations. Not one Hispanic, African American or lower income home, received a citation. The house at the end of the street has had overgrown trees, brush, grass and trash all over its property for years and DID NOT GET A CITATION, but I did. I wish I could post pictures of my home and others so that you can see the issue. Send my your email and I will be glad to send pictures to you. Code enforcement was too busy to show up when with other people were chopping up cars in the street, illegally running a towing business out their home, building fences in direct violation of code and parking in their lawn, but my grass in the alley is an issue. I understand the need and utility of such property codes, but I only ask that they be applied fairly to all residents regardless of who owns the property, and that the city recognize a reasonable (and again, fairly applied) time window to cure any defects or problems.
