Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Ashley Henson, Sheriff

The primary purpose of the Sheriff’s Office is to maintain social order within prescribed ethical and constitutional limits, while providing professional law enforcement services to all. To attain this, the Department enforces the law in a fair and impartial manner, recognizing both the statutory and judicial limitations of Sheriffs’ authority and the constitutional rights of all persons. The Sheriff’s Office recognizes that no law enforcement agency can operate at its maximum potential without supportive input from the citizens it serves. The Sheriff’s Office actively solicits and encourages the cooperation of all citizens to decrease the opportunities for crime and to facilitate the maximum use of resources.

If you've been around Paulding County for a while, you've probably seen our old "caboose" at the Hiram Trailhead on the Silver Comet Trail. Our deputies use this space for various administrative tasks without having to leave far from the trail, but its aging wooden steps were in serious need of some TLC!

Thanks to Xcel Strategies Inc's Mentoring Network, 12 Paulding County students and 13 volunteer mentors spent some HOT July days building a brand new metal deck that will serve our deputies for years to come!

Last week, we celebrated their hard work with an official ribbon-cutting!

This project is a perfect example of Xcel's mission of "Fueling Young People with Purpose."

A huge THANK YOU to Xcel, the students, mentors, and community partners who made it happen. We're proud of these young people and grateful for their investment in our community!

Dallas turned back time so hard, Cher is considering filing a trademark claim.

You’ve seen it. We’ve seen it. And yes, we laughed too.

The building looks great, but the City is still putting the finishing touches on the renovation of the old downtown courthouse. In the meantime, it’s a fitting reminder that we’re just days away from “turning back time” on November 1, when Daylight Saving Time ends.

The temperatures dropped and BAM… FALL FESTIVAL SEASON!

Apparently, the first sign of cooler weather means two things: pumpkin spice EVERYTHING and a fall festival on every corner! 😂

You better believe our team was out making the rounds! Our SWAT Team rolled out with the BearCat (because who doesn’t love checking out our armored vehicle?!), while our CHAMPS and Recruitment Deputies were busy at other events showing off equipment, answering questions, and connecting with our community.

Because community policing isn’t just about showing up when someone calls 911. It’s about the fun stuff, too! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello!

West Metro Church of Christ in Hiram is one of the many community partners we love and their support for us was on full display this week.

They hosted their annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Lunch, treating our public safety community to an awesome lunch, snacks, and little tokens of appreciation. Two days in a row!

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office was honored to partner with local Law Enforcement Agencies to recognize Faith & Blue weekend from October 9th-12th, 2026.

We would like to give special thanks to Hiram Police Department for hosting a cookout on Monday, and the First Baptist Church of Dallas for hosting a Faith and Blue Service followed by a meal.

Faith & Blue started in 2020, and is organized by MovementForward, Inc. launched it in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice’s COPS Office to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and communities through local faith organizations.
