Ending domestic violence requires more than one solution.

At The Family Place, we support survivors through our emergency shelters, transitional housing programs, and counseling services. Through our educational services, we educate young people about healthy relationships. Through our supervised visitation program (FLP) and our Batterer’s Intervention & Prevention Program (BIPP), we promote accountability and behavior change for those who have used violence.

Ending domestic violence requires prevention, accountability, and a commitment to breaking the cycle for future generations. Together, these efforts help create safer families and stronger communities. 💜

Controlling behaviors are sometimes normalized, minimized, or interpreted as love and protection. Recognizing indicators of abuse is an important step toward safety and support for those who may be experiencing abuse.

Healing from family violence takes time, especially when it comes to the impact on our emotional and mental well-being. This Mental Health Awareness Month, know that support is available.

The Family Place offers free individual and group counseling for domestic violence survivors, available in English and Spanish. Group sessions provide a safe space for peer support for adults, while activity-based programs help kids process trauma and work through the impacts of violence. Our case managers help you set goals and access the care you need.
