Our office softball team brought home its first win of the season. Thankfully, our conviction rates are still higher than our RBIs — but today, we’ll take both. Proud of the teamwork, effort, and good humor this group brings on and off the field.

Today Newt is working on courtroom training—learning to stay calm, settled, and focused while people move around and court business carries on.

Every new experience is another step toward being ready to provide comfort when someone needs him most. ❤️🐾

Who is the bestest boy?
Newt, doing what he does best — bringing calm, comfort, and a little joy to the people who need it most.

Happy National Dog Day to our sweet, goofy Newt! 🐾💙

Equal parts snuggles, mischief, zoomies, and those big brown eyes that get him out of just about anything. 😂 Life is definitely more fun with this silly boy around! 🐶💙

Today, our office’s emotional support dog, Newt, provided critical assistance to a witness who experienced a panic attack prior to testimony. His calming presence allowed the witness to regain stability and continue with the process.

Newt’s work reflects our commitment to trauma‑informed practices and ensuring every person who enters our courthouse is treated with dignity and care.

Today, Newt was called to do what he does best—be a calming presence. 💙🐾

Behind these doors, a witness experienced a panic attack just before testifying. Newt quietly stepped in and did what no words could do. He stayed close, offered comfort, and simply was there until the moment felt a little less overwhelming.

This is why he’s here. Not every part of his job can be seen or shared, but moments like this remind us just how important his work can be.

Sometimes the biggest job is simply helping someone find the courage to take the next step. 💙🐾

Paulding County opens new case against accused serial ra**st; victims asked to come forward

August 19, 2026 – Paulding County, Georgia

This morning, the Paulding County District Attorney’s Office provided an update on the multi county investigation involving Bobby Lee Hart, Jr., who is presently under indictment in Douglas and Cobb Counties for multiple sexual assaults. Evidence indicates that Mr. Hart may have been operating in Douglas, Cobb, and Paulding Counties since 1988.

Our office became involved after the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office notified us of a Paulding County victim connected to this case. We immediately opened an investigation and began a full review of all available evidence. Our investigation remains active and ongoing, with the assistance of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and the Hiram Police Department. We extend special thanks to Sheriff Ashley Henson and Chief Josh Lonergan for their partnership, professionalism, and commitment to public safety.

We also recognize Assistant District Attorney Christina Morgan Young, who has dedicated much of her career to seeking justice for victims of sexual assault. She is presently coordinating the Paulding County investigation and continues to serve our community with exceptional skill and compassion.

Given the long-time span and the nature of these allegations, we believe there may be additional victims or individuals with information. Anyone with knowledge about Bobby Lee Hart, or anyone who believes they may have been a victim, is urged to contact our Victim Services Unit at 770 443 7561. Our team is trained to provide confidential, trauma informed support and can guide survivors through available victim services.

We will continue working closely with our law enforcement partners in Douglas, Cobb, and Paulding Counties to ensure that every victim is heard and every lead is thoroughly investigated. Our mission remains clear: to seek truth and do justice.

We are grateful to have Congressman Clay Fuller’s new district office in Paulding County. As the most populous county in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, having a dedicated constituent office here will greatly enhance constituent services and strengthen access for our community.

Congressman Fuller, a former prosecutor, brings a deep understanding of public service and the justice system. His decision to establish a district office in Paulding County reflects a strong commitment to responsive representation and meaningful community access.

We look forward to continued collaboration as we work together to support the people of Paulding County.

The Paulding County District Attorney’s Office was proud to support the community food drive organized by Ethan Allen and their design team. These designers recently assisted our office with much needed updates to our workspace, and we were grateful for the opportunity to give back and support their efforts to help families in need.

Our donation reflects the importance of strong community partnerships and our ongoing commitment to meaningful public service beyond the courtroom.

We appreciate Ethan Allen’s dedication to serving our community and were honored to contribute to their initiative.
