ATTENTION ALL SENIORS. Are you interested in pursuing higher education? The Dallas Youth Commission has a new initiative for you - the Dallas Youth Scholarship. This scholarship has a prize pool of over $30,000 and is super easy to apply. To be notified when the applications open, click the link in our bio.

Everyone should have access to period products - which is why the Youth Commission is proud to present its contribution to the following project: Period Access Dallas (PAD). This initiative aims to have period products available to those who need them, no matter your age!
Teens who don’t have period products readily accessible to them are welcome to go to the nearest participating center and simply ask for some products.
The guidelines for this competition will soon be posted! Share with artists you know; or if you’re an artist yourself, be inspired and create something amazing. Winners MAY get an additional prize… 👀

On Saturday, Commissioner Margarita Hernandez (.marus_world._ ) held a donation drive for her Community Clothing Closet project. We had great turnout and were able to collect hundreds of products.

Wanting to get some volunteer hours? Visit YC at Pinkston High School on Saturday and contribute by donating to District 6’s Clothing Closet!
The clothing closet is a project started bt Commissioner .marus_world._ in hopes to make personal hygiene more accessible to teens at her school. We will be stationed at the front of the school to pick up all donations!
Students at Townview Magnet Center recived their DY magazines on Friday! All good reviews, and students are excited for the next edition coming in January ☺️

YC was excited to attend the GDPC Luncheon today! We served as welcoming staff, but we also got a standing recognition as well :)
Last Friday, the DYC had the opportunity to be a part of the Mayor’s back to school event. It was a great opportunity for us, and we made a lot of meaningful connections! We even got to speak on the news AND meet the mayor 😁
