In recognition of next week’s National Police Week (May 11–16, 2026), the Irving Police Department will host its annual Police Officer Memorial Ceremony to honor Texas’s fallen officers from 2025–2026, as well as remember our own fallen heroes:

-Officer Homs – EOW: 7.3.93
-Officer Hawkins – EOW: 12.24.00
-Officer Esparza – EOW: 4.13.07

Each year, we gather in unity to show our unwavering support and ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten. We invite the public to join us in honoring and remembering those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

Our DWI Unit recently had the opportunity to visit with students at Universal Technical Institute, engaging in an important conversation about the dangers of driving while impaired.

Officers discussed how impairment impacts reaction time and decision-making and reinforced the life-changing consequences that can come from a single poor choice.

Remember: If you plan to drink, plan a safe ride. 🚗💙
