You can't turn on your TV today without understanding why this conference is so important. Our office has been working with area law enforcement, community groups and organizations to bring this positive message including successful strategies from across the country to make our neighborhoods safer for all for over 9 months. We're sorry that there has/had to be cost associated with conference participation, but we don't have any sponsors who could cover the cost of bringing in the best.

Please exercise your RIGHT to vote.
We have a very important PRIMARY RUNOFF coming up:
Early voting: Monday May 16- Friday May 20
Election Day Tuesday May 24

You can view a sample ballot by going to www.dallascountyvotes.org. Ninety-five % of us found something better to do than vote in our last election. We've listened to a lot of people complain recently about zoning, about redistricting, about sky-high appraisals, about gas prices and inflation, maybe, just maybe we can begin to do something about these things by participating in our participatory democracy.

Join us on Tuesday, May 10th at 6pm at the Village Bridge Center for a community meeting to talk about a proposed road diet for Malcolm X Blvd!

A road diet is the removal of travel lanes or reduction of lane widths. Road diets can be implemented in order to accommodate others uses such as bicycle lanes, sidewalks, or added parking. They are also used as a traffic calming tool to improve safety outcomes.

You can find additional information at https://safety.fhwa.dot.gov/road_diets/
