Our Story

Our shelter staff has been able to provide safe shelter to over 3,000 women and their children, as well as thousands of hours of support group services. Our Services include, but are not limited to: •Emergency shelter, food and clothing •Individual advocacy •Weekly Women’s Enrichment Therapy Group
•Outside referrals for counseling, housing, day care, and local community resources •Legal advocacy •Assistance with school enrollment Since Shepherd's Rest opened in 1997, we have: •Provided emergency shelter, transitional housing, food, and clothing to over 3,000 women and children. •Have helped encourage and enroll hundreds of women in Chattahoochee Technical College, Vogue Beauty School, and other schools of higher learning and helped numerous other ladies obtain their driver's license and/or GED since the shelter opened in 1997. Have even taught some how to drive! •Helped locate long-term housing for the families we serve. •Have helped hundreds and hundreds of Paulding County families with toys, food, and clothing during our Christmas/holiday outreach. •Have presented many families with used cars that were donated to Shepherd's Rest.
