Strong partnerships keep our community safe. Recently, Dallas Fire & EMS crews trained alongside West Valley Hospital staff on hazardous material decontamination procedures.

This hands-on training focused on coordinated response, patient safety, and effective decontamination techniques in high-risk environments. By working together, first responders and healthcare professionals strengthen communication, improve efficiency, and ensure we’re ready when it matters most.

We’re proud of the continued collaboration and commitment to preparedness that helps protect our community every day. 🚒🏥

We're going into the final stages of academy training for our recruit volunteer firefighters. Last night, our paid staff and volunteers trained on what we like to call “first due drill”. This drill incorporates all aspects of what's expected of our firefighters when they first arrive at a fire. Our firefighters worked together to get the job done with no distinction between paid or volunteer. We don’t need to tell you, but you’re in good hands Dallas! 🫶🏼🚒🚑

Dallas Fire & EMS would like to extend a huge thank you to Harvest CrossFit, Dallas First Christian Church, and Grace Church, Dallas Oregon for allowing us to use your properties today for aerial apparatus training.

Crews spent the day working with our 2003 Pierce Dash 85-foot platform aerial, focusing on understanding the capabilities and limitations of the vehicle. Training included driving, cone courses, and real-world vehicle placement scenarios.

This type of hands-on training is critical. It helps our crews develop the skills needed for proper apparatus placement during rescues, ventilation operations, and elevated master stream deployment. Knowing where and how to position the truck can make all the difference on scene.

In addition, training in different locations around our community allows crews to pre-plan and become familiar with various buildings and layouts we may respond to in an emergency.
Today’s scenario challenged crews to operate on an uneven parking lot—requiring careful positioning of the apparatus on an unlevel surface to safely and effectively reach the objective.

We appreciate the continued support from our community partners in helping us train to better serve Dallas ❤️
