Kwangheon Doh, Head of the Consulate, attended the North Texas EDC Networking Reception, hosted by the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of North Texas on June 8 in Lewisville. The event was organized to connect Korean companies with officials from major Texas cities and Economic Development Corporations (EDCs), providing opportunities to explore business opportunities and market entry strategies. The delegation, coordinated by K-MidSouth Nexus, visited key economic hubs across Texas, including Dallas, Austin, Taylor, and Houston, from June 8 to 14.
The reception brought together representatives from 24 Korean companies in sectors including manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI), information technology (IT), biotechnology, K-food, beauty, and venture investment, along with economic development officials from cities across North Texas. In his congratatory remarks, Head of Consulate Doh expressed his hope that Korea’s technological strengths and Texas’s strong economic growth would create new opportunities for investment and cooperation in the AI era, fostering a strong and mutually beneficial partnership.
도광헌 출장소장은 6.8.(월) 루이스빌 소재 SpringHill Suites Dallas에서 개최된 북텍사스한인상공회 주최 「텍사스 시장 진출을 위한 민간 산업시찰단」 네트워킹 리셉션에 참석하였습니다.
동 행사는 텍사스 주요 도시 및 경제개발기관(EDC) 관계자들과 한국 기업 간 네트워크 구축을 지원하기 위해 마련되었으며, 공동 주최 기관인 K-MidSouth Nexus(정영호 전 주휴스턴총영사 설립)는 국내 중소기업들의 텍사스 시장 진출 기회 모색을 위해 6.8.~14. 기간 중 댈러스, 오스틴, 테일러, 휴스턴 등 텍사스 주요 경제권을 방문하는 산업시찰 프로그램을 기획하였습니다.
이번 네트워킹 행사에는 중소 제조업, 인공지능(AI), IT 벤처, 스타트업, 바이오, K-Food, 뷰티, 벤처투자 분야 등 한국 기업 24개사가 참가하였으며, 스티브 바빅(Steve Babick) 캐롤튼 시장을 비롯하여 댈러스, 플레이노, 캐롤튼, 리처드슨, 덴튼, 맥키니, 드소토 등 북텍사스 주요 도시의 경제개발기관 관계자들이 참석하였습니다. 참석자들은 미국 시장 진출에 필요한 산업 환경, 투자 인센티브, 입지 선정, 파트너십 구축 방안 등에 대한 다양한 정보를 공유하는 시간을 가졌습니다.
도광헌 출장소장은 축사를 통해 “한국 기업의 우수한 기술력과 텍사스의 성장 기반이 결합하여 AI 시대의 새로운 투자·협력 기회를 창출하는 상생의 파트너십으로 발전해 나가기를 기대한다”고 밝혔습니다.
