Filmed in Dallas 40 years ago, this anniversary screening celebrates our endangered City Hall, whose future will be determined by City Council this summer. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Save Dallas City Hall Coalition.

“I.M. Dallas” is a graphic t-shirt designed by illustrator Rob Wilson in support of the Save Dallas City Hall Coalition.

Inspired by I. M. Pei’s iconic Dallas City Hall, the artwork playfully references Pei’s signature oversized glasses while celebrating the humanity, civic spirit, and architectural legacy embodied in the building itself.

For Rob, Dallas City Hall has long served as a true town square for the city — a gathering place for marches, marathons, protests, celebrations, and civic life. The piece reflects his belief that the building belongs to — and represents — the people of Dallas.

Allison V Smith, courtesy of Barry Whistler Gallery recently captured a surrealistic image of graffiti saying “Save Dallas History” written into the Henry Moore sculpture in front of the vulnerable Dallas City Hall designed by I.M. Pei. A timely Brassaiesque image given that the 50-year-old iconic building is presently on the chopping block and in a contentious battle between the citizens of Dallas and special interest groups. The framed print will be on display along with limited-edition prints available for cash and carry purchase with 50% going to the Save Dallas City Hall coalition. Allison’s work resides in the permanent public collections at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Dallas Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Nasher Sculpture Center, The Grace Museum, and at The Rubin Center for the Visual Arts at The University of Texas at El Paso.
