This morning I had the honor of meeting Kirsten who stopped by the station. She was representing "Bridging the Journey" First Responder Appreciation, which is a community initiative spearheaded by the Collective Response lnitiative York, the York Opioid Collaborative, and Life Changing Pathways.
This program focuses on showing appreciation for local first responders by delivering thank-you cards to the county's law enforcement, EMS, Fire Departments, and dispatch agencies.
Local families affected by substance use disorders and mental health advocates participate in this program to express gratitude to first responders for their ongoing, life-saving efforts.
It was a real honor to meet Kirsten and hear her success story and see what she is doing now to help the reduction of opioid related deaths.
Thank you for stopping by and presenting the department with the letter, thank you cards, etc. They are posted in the station where all of the membership can see them and read them.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT:

After the structure fire today in Windsor Township the homeowners were missing their pet cat "Sophie".

SAFER Firefighter Chandler Lape did not give up hope and continued searching the residence for Sophie. Sure enough his search located Sophie in the basement and he exited the burnt out residence and reunited her with her family. Sophie took a quick trip to the local vet for treatment.

This is the type of dedicated and caring person FF Lape is! Great job Chandler!! We are so glad to have you.
