What a great turnout for opening night at the Dalton Carnival! The weather was fantastic, and it looks like we're in for another beautiful evening tonight and tomorrow.

🎡 Tonight is Opening Night at the Dalton Carnival! 🎡
The weather is looking great, and it's the perfect night to get out and enjoy everything the carnival has to offer! Bring your family and friends for an evening filled with exciting rides, delicious food, games, and plenty of fun for all ages.
Come out and support this great community event while making some lasting memories. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Yesterday afternoon (5/20/26), the Dalton Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a party experiencing a medical emergency on the Appalachian Trail. The individual was located approximately two miles from the Gulf Road trailhead.

DFD personnel responded with D5 and a UTV'S to access the remote location. The Cheshire Fire Department was also requested to assist from the Cheshire side of the trail. Additional mutual aid was provided by the Pittsfield Fire Department, Lanesborough Fire Department, Windsor Fire Department, Hinsdale Fire Department, Life Net Helicopter of New York, Northern Berkshire EMS, Dalton Police Department, and the Berkshire County Fire Coordinator.
Due to the challenging terrain, the extrication took approximately 90 minutes to complete.

The Dalton Fire Department would like to thank all of our mutual aid partners for their teamwork and support during this incident. We also extend our appreciation to the dispatchers at the Dalton Communication Center and Berkshire RECC for their coordination and assistance.

The Dalton Fireman’s Association is now selling advance tickets for this year’s carnival!

The carnival will be held Wednesday, June 3rd through Sunday, June 7th. Advance tickets are available for just $8 per sheet, with 10 tickets included per sheet.

To purchase tickets, please reach out to any member of the Dalton Fire Department. Be sure to get yours before the carnival starts and save money! We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the carnival.

Congratulations to Wahconah Unified Track team for winning Western mass this afternoon! Get ready for some lights and sirens around 730pm!!!
We will be leaving the Windsor / Dalton line and heading down North St then taking a left onto Main St back to the high school. 💙💙💪💪

Last nights drill, crews trained on bumper load deployment for quick, aggressive initial attack, along with pumping operations to sharpen our water supply skills.
Continuous training and strong teamwork are what keep us ready to respond when our community needs us most.
