Whitfield County Board of Elections

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-498(f), the Whitfield County Board of Elections will conduct an audit of the Secretary of State – Republican race, utilizing all ballots cast and approved in the June 16, 2026 General Primary Runoff election.
This audit will occur due to a recount request submitted by the Vernon Jones campaign, which cites O.C.G.A. 21-2-495(b). This code section applies to lever voting machines, and would not constitute the need for a recount in this election. The original statement from June 21, 2026 is still in effect because the request concerned a statewide office. Despite these details, the Whitfield County Board of Elections is committed to secure and transparent elections.
The audit will occur in conjunction with the Risk Limiting Audit scheduled for Friday, June 26th at 8:30 a.m. within the Board of Elections office, located at 205 N Selvidge St, Ste K, Dalton, GA, 30720.

Early Voting: June 8 - June 12, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at the Whitfield County Courthouse.

Election Day: June 16th, 2026 7:00 am - 7:00 pm at your precinct. Visit www.mvp.sos.ga.gov to find where you need to go!

Last day to request an Absentee-By-Mail Ballot: June 5th

Voters who made the original registration cutoff date of April 20th will be eligible to vote on all races. Anyone who registered to vote for the first time between April 21st - May 18th will only be eligible to vote on federal races.
