Final Update: As of 3 p.m., just 35 members are still without power in six separate outages. The remaining outages have all been assigned to a crew, and work will continue this afternoon until all members have regained power. Thank you for your patience while crews worked around the clock to restore power following the overnight storms, and we are grateful to Amicalola EMC for their help in response to the storms.

Noon update: 148 members remain without power in 28 separate outages. Our operations team expects to have all members restored by nightfall, and all current outages have been assigned to a crew.

9: 45 a.m. update: 515 members remain without power in 62 separate outages. This means for every outage resolved moving forward, crews will be restoring an average of just over 8 members.
So far crews have found numerous fallen trees, downed spans of wire, and at least 4 broken poles. The NGEMC line workers, contract crews, and assisting crews from Amicalola EMC remain in the field working to restore power. Our next update will be at noon.

8:00 a.m. update: 2,369 members remain without power in 97 separate outages. More crews and other operations personnel are now working on the system to restore power and spot damage. We are also thankful to Amicalola EMC, who is sending two additional crews to assist us this morning. The current estimated time for full system restoration is still nightfall tonight (Friday, Aug. 21), while crews continue to add estimated restoration times for individual outages to our live outage map: https://www2.ngemc.com/

6:00 a.m. update: 3,411 members remain without power in 109 separate outage events. Our operations team is currently estimating that all power will be restored sometime around nightfall Friday evening. This estimation may change based on what our crews find in the daylight.
14 crews have been working on the system in the early morning hours following the storm, and so far have located 2 broken poles (this number is expected to rise) additional help joined those already in the field at 6:00 a.m. Our next scheduled update will be at 8:00 a.m.

3:45 a.m. update: 5,896 members remain without power in 106 widespread outages. At the height of the storm, 5.990 members were without power in 113 separate outages. Crews will be working around the clock, and are in the field now working to assess the full extent of the damage as the storm begins to exit our service area.
Due to the widespread nature of the storm damage, full restoration will take multiple hours, and we will aim to provide a total estimated time of restoration (ETOR) at our next update at 6:30 a.m. Due to the widespread nature of outages we cannot currently provide details on individual outages, however crews will continue adding ETORs for specific locations to the live outage map when they arrive on each scene and are able to inspect the lines.

NGEMC is working to restore power to members impacted in multiple scattered outages caused by severe storms in Northwest Georgia overnight. NGEMC crews are in the field and will work around the clock to restore power. As storms continue to pass through our area, please keep an eye on the weather. Updates will be posted here once we have a full scope of storm damage. It will take multiple hours to restore all power.
