Have you voted? The ballots for the 2026 NGEMC Director Elections close at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 6.

When you cast your ballot, you will automatically be entered in our prize drawing. 90 voting members will be randomly selected to receive a $100 bill credit.

If you have an email address on file with your NGEMC account and have not voted, you should have received a reminder email on Wednesday morning (Aug. 5) from [email protected] with a direct link to your unique ballot. You can also visit www.ngemc.com/2026meeting and use the code on the cover of your July Georgia Magazine to vote online or stop by any NGEMC office during our regular business hours with your photo ID to vote (no link or code is needed for in-person voting).

A video recording of the business meeting will be available shortly after 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Aug. 6 on the Annual Meeting webpage linked above. The election results and a list of our bill credit winners will be announced on the same page on the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 7.

7:30 a.m. UPDATE: 56 NGEMC members remain without power in 15 separate outages. Crews have been dispatched to all remaining outages and will continue to work until all power is restored. Saturday evening's storms led to more than 50 separate outages that affected thousands of NGEMC members. Thank you for your patience while our crews continue to work to restore power safely as quickly as possible.

5:30 a.m. UPDATE: NGEMC crews are continuing work in the field Sunday morning to restore power after Saturday evening storms. As of 5:30 a.m., 150 members remain without power in 21 separate outages. Crews have worked through the night and will continue to work around the clock until restoration is complete.

12 a.m. UPDATE: After another wave of storms, there are 873 NGEMC members without power in 42 separate outages. Crews are in the field and will work through the night until all members are restored.

NGEMC is working to restore power after storms came through the northern portion of the NGEMC service area Saturday evening. As of 10 p.m., 771 NGEMC members are without power in 31 separate outages. NGEMC crews will work around the clock to restore power to all affected members.

Thanks to the members who joined us at our first District meeting in Dalton last Friday. Our last District meeting will be this Friday, July 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Colonnade in Ringgold. We hope to see you there!

5:30 a.m. UPDATE: All remaining outages that occurred as a result of Friday evening's storms have been restored, and all NGEMC members have regained power. At the height of the damage, NGEMC's system had more than 90 separate outages with more than 6,000 members without power after a storm that downed lines and broke poles. Thank you for your patience while our crews worked through the night to restore power following the storms.

11:00 p.m. UPDATE: 1,084 members remain without power in 14 separate outages. Crews will remain in the field working to restore power throughout the night until all members are restored. Crews are also working to restore one last large substation breaker outage impacting 975 members in Fort Oglethorpe caused by a broken pole. They are finalizing repairs to the pole and have now located another damaged spot on the same line that will require additional repairs. The crew expects to have this outage on in the next hour.

7:00 p.m. UPDATE: Crews remain in the field working to assess damage and continue restoration work for the 2,586 members who remain without power in 48 separate outages. As crews arrive at each scene, they will assess the damage and may assign an Estimated Time of Restoration (ETOR) for the individual outage. These are updated automatically on our live outage map. Thank you for your patience as our crews continue their work to safely restore power. Our next update will be posted here at 9:00 p.m.

5:15 p.m. UPDATE: 5,374 members remain without power in 79 separate outages. Crews will remain working on the system around the clock to restore power to all members. At this time, our operations team estimates all power will be restored by 6 a.m. tomorrow morning (Sat. July 4). Due to the number and spread of outages, restoration will be a gradual process. You can monitor progress on our live outage map: www.ngemc.com/outage. Our next update will be posted here at 7:00 p.m.
