NASRO is honored to recognize Master Patrol Officer Sean Hudson of the Dalton Police Department (Georgia) as the Exceptional Service Award winner for Region 1. Region 1 includes Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, US Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Master Patrol Officer Sean Hudson has served in the Dalton Police Department’s SRO unit for over seven years and leads the annual Law Cadet Academy Summer Camp in partnership with the American Legion. The camp introduces high school students from Dalton, Whitfield, and Murray County schools to careers in law enforcement, public safety, and the military.

Hudson spends months organizing the program, which saw record participation in 2025 through partnerships with multiple local agencies. The camp has earned statewide recognition and serves as a model for other American Legion programs, while also inspiring several participants to pursue careers in law enforcement and the military.

The Dalton Police Department will be conducting a Child Safety Seat Check on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Dalton Fire Department Station #5, located at 1290 Cross Plains Trail (Heritage Park).
