The U.S. Navy is looking for motivated individual to serve our nation, full time and part time to enrich our heritage. We are looking for those that could meet our requirement and use their unique skill to better our World’s Finest Navy. Congratulation to future sailor Rahm from South San Francisco High School! She has a long term goal of being in the medical field and helping out others. Soon to be in the Navy as a hospital corpsman will get her started with medical experience while working on her degree using out Tuition Assistance program! She could also apply for a lot of other medical programs as well while in the Navy, such as the MECP program! Nice work future sailor! Keep it up! This is Dr. Romero, LCDR, USN. He did two sea tours as a nuclear engineer on submarines (USS Connecticut and USS Columbia). After finishing his department head tour, he applied for and was accepted to medical school at USUHS in Bethesda, MD where he specialized in psychiatry. He now works out of Chesapeake, VA as a professional psychiatrist with the Navy. It was awesome to bump into a fellow submariner at and to swap sea stories - especially with regards to mental health! He had some excellent insights on some progressive changes for how the Navy can handle mental health issues. Really glad to meet a new mentor and to know that smart folks are doing good work in all facets of military life. From Engineer to Doctor - and the Navy paid for it all while he was married with two kids! Truly inspirational.
