A little sneak peek into what we all need to remember when the rotary opens on Belvedere road and route 1 intersection.

A little sneak peek into what we all need to remember when the rotary opens on Belvedere road and route 1 intersection.

A little information on the rotary and how to make it more manageable! The picture shows an overlay of the old triangle and the new rotary.

In Maine, drivers approaching a rotary (also known as a roundabout) must yield to traffic already in the circle. Once inside the rotary, drivers need to signal when exiting.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Yielding: When entering a rotary, you must yield the right-of-way to vehicles already circulating within the rotary.

Circulation: Drivers should keep to the right of the center island and proceed around the circle in a counter-clockwise direction.

Exiting: Signal your intention to exit the rotary before you reach your desired exit.

Signs and Markings: Always obey any traffic signs or pavement markings present at the rotary.

Blinkers: Using your blinkers is crucial for indicating your intentions to other drivers.

Take a deep breath and relax...you can do this!

Stay safe,
Newport PD!
