Congratulations to our former cadet DJ Sechrest on all of his success. We are proud to see one of our own out there continuing to do amazing things for themselves and the people they serve.
South Trail Fire & Rescue Training Division is pleased to announce that Firefighter David (DJ) Sechrest and Firefighter Ryan Bemis have successfully completed the South Trail Fire & Rescue Paramedic Credentialing process.
Our Medical Director, Dr. Keith Lafferty, shared the following after their credentialing evaluation: "Ryan and DJ did extremely well, to say the least... very prepared and well-read/knowledgeable. They both were spot on regarding their thought process, anatomy, and pathophysiology... again, very impressed. Lastly, I have to comment on their professional demeanor, respect, and overall obvious love of our vocation. It was a pleasure... and I purposely reiterate, proud!"

Dr. Lafferty's remarks speak not only to their exceptional medical knowledge, but also to the professionalism, and dedication they bring to South Trail Fire & Rescue every day. Their commitment to continually advancing their skills ensures our residents and visitors receive the highest level of Advanced Life Support care when they need it most. This achievement reflects South Trail's ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, continuous training, and providing compassionate, evidence-based emergency medical care to the community we proudly serve.
