Dana Police Karate Dojo To enhance our community and its citizens through the positive personal development skills of Karate. The Dojo teaches Matsumura Shorin Ryu Okinawan Karate.

Dana Police Karate Dojo was established by Dana Police Chief Matthew Schell. Chief Schell or (Sensei Schell) is an active command staff law enforcement officer, Law enforcement control Tactics instructor, and practitioner of the martial arts with over 40 years of training, first starting his martial arts journey in 1974 under the instruction of his grandfather. The dojo was created to provide a pl

ace for local law enforcement officers to train and perfect skills that could help keep them from undo injury or possible death do to the nature of their job. It was also created for the community to have a serious no nonsense school that they could learn the skills that are needed to survive an attack on the street, get in shape, train for national or international competitions or now even the Olympics starting in 2020.( Karate has been officially interred in as an Olympic sport).It was also created to give the kids in the community a positive place to learn the skills to make them Champions in life. There are many benefits to Karate Like: Self defense, Focus and listening skills, self control and good decision making, balance and posture, memorization and retention, physical fitness and healthy living, coordination and motor skills, self esteem and confidence building, social skills and friendship, flexibility, self- confidence, and respect.
