PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT – WINTER WEATHER

With winter weather expected this weekend, Stokes County EMS urges everyone to take extra precautions to stay safe.

• Avoid unnecessary travel if conditions worsen
• Slow down and allow extra stopping distance if driving
• Keep an emergency kit in your vehicle (blanket, water, flashlight, phone charger)
• Check on elderly neighbors and those with medical needs
• Use space heaters safely and never leave them unattended
• Dress in layers and protect exposed skin to prevent cold-related injuries

In the event of an emergency, call 911. Our EMS crews will remain on duty, prepared to respond, but your safety and prevention help reduce avoidable emergencies.

Please stay informed, plan ahead, and stay safe this weekend.

We joke about going to the grocery store, but like, seriously. Go through your winter storm preps this week.

It’s been a while since we’ve had the chance for a big storm.

Travel and power issues could be long-lasting with this one, especially if ice becomes a bigger deal.
