Great news for Danbury! I’m thrilled to announce that the State Bond Commission approved $2.3 million for the rehabilitation of the Kennedy Avenue Bridge. And the state is covering the full $4.6 million project cost, which means Danbury taxpayers won’t have to foot the bill through our local property taxes.

Mayor Alves has made critical infrastructure a priority, and our Democratic delegation has worked hard to bring home the bonding from Hartford that makes projects like this possible. I want to give a special thank you to Rep. Farley Santos for his partnership, and to Governor Lamont, our Senate Leadership and the Bond Commission for recognizing the value of this investment for our community.

🚨ENDORSEMENT ALERT🚨

Proud and honored to earn the endorsement of the Connecticut State Building Trades for my re-election. They are the skilled men and women who build our roads, schools, hospitals, and keep Connecticut moving.

The Building Trades fight for good-paying jobs, strong apprenticeship programs, safe working conditions, and opportunities for working families to succeed.

As a proud Abbott Tech graduate, this endorsement means a great deal to me. I’m grateful to have their support and proud to have them in my corner as we continue fighting for workers, strong unions, and economic opportunity for all.

Let’s keep building a stronger Danbury and Connecticut together.

On this Memorial Day, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us through the generations, and we are grateful for the members of our community here in Danbury who have dedicated themselves to the service of others and to our nation. We’re especially grateful to First Lieutenant (and City Councilman) Joe Britton and Army Veteran J.P. Trudel. God bless America! 🇺🇸

Due to the inclement weather forecast, tomorrow’s Memorial Day Parade has been canceled. While we are disappointed we cannot gather together for this important tradition, honoring and remembering the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country remains at the heart of this day.

I encourage residents to take a moment this Memorial Day to reflect, remember, and honor those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR DANBURY 🚨

I’m proud to announce that the State Bond Commission is set to approve $2.3 MILLION on May 29th to fully fund the long awaited replacement of the Kennedy Avenue Bridge meaning ZERO City of Danbury property taxpayer dollars will be used for this critical $4.6 million project.

Here’s why this is such a big deal: Under the state bridge program, the state typically covers 50% of the cost, leaving local property taxpayers responsible for the other half. For a $4.6 million bridge project, Danbury taxpayers would normally be expected to cover $2.3 million.

But through strong collaboration and persistent advocacy from me, State Senator Julie Kushner, and Mayor Roberto Alves with House and Senate leadership, and Governor Lamont’s team, we got it done! We secured the additional state funding needed so Danbury residents won’t have to foot the bill.

This bridge, built in 1964, is long overdue for replacement and is critical for public safety, traffic flow, and keeping our community connected. It’s an investment in our infrastructure, our neighborhoods, and our future.

When government works together and fights for every dollar our city deserves, real results happen. I look forward to the Bond Commission’s passing of these funds on the 29th.

$4.6 million bridge. $0 from Danbury property taxpayers.

That’s how we deliver for Danbury.
