The Danby Mt-Tabor Fire Dept would like to give a huge shout out to the Dept Auxiliary members and everyone who came out to help and support them on their delicious chicken and biscuit dinner.

🚒 In Memory of Firefighter Shawn Towsley

It is with deep sadness that the Danby–Mt. Tabor Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of Firefighter Shawn Towsley on January 28, 2026. Shawn served his community with dedication, heart, and strength—qualities that made him not only a valued member of our department, but a trusted friend to many.

Services to honor Shawn’s life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 PM at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home in Manchester, Vermont. A reception will follow at the Danby–Mt. Tabor Fire Department, where friends, family, and fellow firefighters are welcome to gather, share memories, and support one another.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Shawn’s family and loved ones. His service and spirit will remain a lasting part of our fire family and our community.

May he rest in peace.
