Valley Home Road between Nicholas Street and East Meeting Street will be CLOSED on August 19th beginning at 8:30 AM.

The road closure will remain in effect until an undetermined time.

SCAM ALERT — PLEASE SHARE!

The Dandridge Police Department has received reports that several residents have received phone calls from someone claiming to be with the FBI.

The caller is telling residents that their bank is being investigated by the FBI and then instructing them to:

• Transfer their money to another account
• Withdraw their money and load it onto gift cards
• Stay on the phone with the caller while going to the bank and completing the transaction

PLEASE BE AWARE — THIS IS A SCAM!

The FBI will NEVER call you and instruct you to withdraw your money, transfer your money to another account, or purchase gift cards to protect your funds.

If you receive a call like this, DO NOT give the caller any personal or financial information and DO NOT transfer or withdraw your money.

Hang up and contact your bank or local law enforcement if you believe you are being targeted.

The Dandridge Police Department also has identity theft and phone scam information pamphlets available at the Police Department. Stop by and pick one up to learn more about protecting yourself and your family from scams.

While the Chief may have been tempted, K9 Raven stayed focused and professional—proving once again that discipline is part of the job.

A big thank you to White Pine Church of God for inviting the Dandridge Police Department to your Back to School Bash! We had an amazing time meeting so many wonderful kids and adults from across our neighboring communities.

It was a blessing to see the youth receive school supplies, enjoy hot dogs, and having a blast on the water slides. Events like these bring communities together and help our kids start the school year with smiles on their faces.
