May is National Historic Preservation Month, a time to celebrate our nation’s heritage and the real economic, cultural, and environmental benefits that come from protecting historic places.

Right here in Dania Beach, we have something worth celebrating.

After more than two years of negotiation, the City purchased the M.C. Frost House in July. M.C. Frost was the son of A.C. Frost, the founder of our city. Built in 1923, it is a Spanish Mediterranean Revival two-story on nearly an acre right on US-1. Since the purchase we have been steadily working to restore it so the whole community can enjoy it for generations to come.

Throughout Broward County we have roots worth protecting and I will bring this same energy. Proud we made this happen.

Had a blast at the annual BSO vs Dania Beach softball game. This is what it’s all about. Community and Public safety getting together for a little friendly competition. Congratulations on taking the trophy this year BSO.

Seven young men from three local high schools are heading to Tallahassee this summer for Boys State 2026, sponsored by the Florida American Legion.
I was proud to be part of the selection process representing Dania Beach Posts 304 and 209.
This is not just a program. It is a week that can change the direction of a young man’s life. Boys State puts these students in a room with other sharp, motivated young people from across Florida and asks them to do something most adults never get the chance to do. Build a government from scratch. Run for office. Win or lose on their own merit.
That experience builds something that no classroom can fully teach. Confidence, accountability, and an understanding of how power actually works and how to earn it the right way.
For some of these young men, this will be the moment they decide to lead. I’m happy to have the ability to give them that opportunity. Good Luck this summer.

To better understand the challenges we face with waste management, I have been visiting recycling and energy facilities throughout Broward County. As an executive member of the Broward County Solid Waste Authority, we have developed a master plan and facilities amendment for member cities to adopt, moving us toward a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future. We are at a critical point years in the making, and our path forward will become clear in the near future.

These proactive measures kill the larvae of mosquitoes known to potentially spread diseases such as dengue, yellow fever and chikungunya.
