⚠️ WEATHER ALERT: Weekend Nor’easter Preparations

A strong nor’easter is expected to impact the North Shore this weekend, bringing heavy rain and strong, gusty winds. The storm could result in downed trees and limbs, power outages, and localized flooding.

Now is the time to prepare:

• Secure or bring inside loose outdoor furniture, decorations, and other items.
• Clear leaves and debris from storm drains around your property.
• Charge cell phones and make sure flashlights and batteries are readily available.
• Be prepared for possible power outages.
• Avoid driving through flooded roadways.

⚠️ Stay away from downed power lines and treat all downed wires as energized. Do not touch the wires or anything they may be in contact with. If you encounter a downed wire, move away and call 911.

Danvers Public Safety is prepared and will be monitoring conditions throughout the storm. As always, our Fire, Police, and public safety partners are ready to respond as needed.

The Danvers Fire Department invites our community to join us on Friday, September 11, 2026, as we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001 and honor the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This year’s ceremony will include a reading of the names of every firefighter, police officer, and EMT who lost their lives that day, with members of the Danvers Fire Department, Danvers Police Department, and Northeast Ambulance participating.

Please join us as we remember those we lost, honor their sacrifice, and ensure their names are never forgotten.

All are welcome.

Congratulations to Probationary Firefighters Deschene, McNulty, and Byrne on their graduation from Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Recruit Class 341!

Over the past 10 challenging weeks, they completed an intensive combination of classroom instruction and practical training, developing the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as professional firefighters.

Graduation marks the beginning of their careers, not the end of their training. We are proud of their hard work and look forward to watching them grow and succeed in the years ahead.
