Please be advised that Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, in accordance with G.L. c. 2, § 6A, has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Friday, September 18, 2026, in observance of National POW/MIA Recognition Day and in honor of United States service members who are prisoners of war or missing in action.

This gubernatorial order applies to:

1. The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls

2. Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings

3. All state military installations

On September 15th, Congresswoman Nancy Mace, from South Carolina, was the 218th signature needed for H. RES 1247, the discharge petition for H.R. 2102, the Major Richard Star Act. It will now be scheduled for a floor vote in the House of Representatives!

This is the clean, standalone version of MRSA and does not have the controversial VA disability reductions in it.

This version still has to pass the House and the Senate.

If you believe it's time to end the "wounded warrior tax", then please reach out to your Representatives and Senators to let them know that it is time to stop penalizing medically retired service members.

The Iraq & Afghanistan Dog Tag Memorial is coming to Billerica this October.

This powerful traveling memorial honors the men and women who lost their lives while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, with thousands of individual dog tags coming together to form the American flag.
The memorial will be on display at the Billerica Elks from October 10–12, 2026, and will remain open for viewing 24 hours a day from setup through takedown.

We invite the community to stop by, reflect, and help us honor their service and remember their names. Thank you Billerica Veterans Services for bringing this opportunity to Billerica
