Rooted in the River Valley

When most people think of libraries, they think of books. But the people behind our library desks know there's so much more to the story.

Every day, staff across our seven locations connect community members with technology, Wi-Fi, printing and scanning services, digital resources, lifelong learning opportunities, and much more.

This week, we'd like to recognize the people who make our libraries special. Their knowledge and commitment ensure our libraries remain valuable resources for communities across the River Valley.

Be sure to follow and connect with our branches:
πŸ“ Charleston Public Library in Charleston
πŸ“ Franklin County Library in Ozark
πŸ“ Johnson County Public Library in Clarksville
πŸ“ Logan County Public Library in Booneville
πŸ“ Boyd T. And Mollie Gattis Logan County Library in Paris
πŸ“ Yell County Library in Danville
πŸ“ Dardanelle - Yell County Library in Dardanelle

The books may bring people through the doors, but it's the people who help make the library a community resource. ❀️

The Arkansas Department of Education encourages families to connect with your public library to help your child improve their reading. They also encourage connecting with your public library to avoid the "summer slide". Remember..." There's always something to do @ the Yell County Library, Your Community Resource Center! "

In an effort to support Arkansas families and grow strong readers, is providing resources for understanding your child’s progress, as well as tips to keep the learning going over the summer months.

One way to help your reader grow is by visiting the library! πŸ“š Check out https://gobeyondgrades.org/arkansas/ for an interactive tool to connect to your local public library.

Introducing: Rooted in the River Valley!

Over the summer, we’ll share more about the Arkansas River Valley Regional Library System, including our branches, services, staff, spaces, and the many ways libraries support our communities every day.

But first, we thought we’d start with our name and logo. Ever wondered about the meaning behind our logo?

The peaks represent the Tri-Peaks Region (Mt. Magazine, Mt. Nebo, and Petit Jean). The flowing design is a nod to the Arkansas River and a book, connecting our communities through stories. Our name may seem long, but it reflects the landscape, history, and beautiful environment that make this region home.

Our libraries are deeply connected to the communities we serve, and our identity tells that story. We’re excited to take you behind the scenes and help you get to know ARVRLS a little better.
