Demonstrating what he learned last year in the inaugural Introduction to Drones and GIS class, junior Ben Horne shows PA Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding and PA Representative Michael Stender how to operate the drone purchased using PA grant funds. Ag teacher Van Wagner wrote the grant after discussing with the local Agricultural Advisory Committee the benefits of done usage for local farmers and of training interested students to be part of the future work force. “I think it was good to hear what the leaders of Agriculture in the state thought about what we’re doing here at Danville High School.” Horne said. “After hearing from them I think that because of the program that was put in place last year, me and other students will have yet one more added benefit to our resume when we leave.”

Congratulations to the members of the 2024-2025 edition of the DHS yearbook! The senior portrait section for the 2025 edition was recently recognized by Jostens and printed in the 2026 edition of the Jostens Look Book, a collection of the previous year’s best yearbook content across the nation. The spread was selected as one out of over 1,200 for its excellent use of color, unique coverage, and easy readability. In addition to publication in the Look Book, the team also received an official banner and pin to commemorate their accomplishments. This is the second consecutive year that the Le Trésor staff has been recognized for a high quality publication.

Junior Myles Koser and Senior Kayvion Seabrook learn how to climb trees in Forestry and Natural Resource Management class. Both students agreed that once you get the hang of the process and find your rhythm, climbing is enjoyable.

Last week current students welcomed new students to the Ironmen family during a breakfast. Exchange students, senior Coralie Saugeras and junior Aroa Aparicio Velasco, said that the experience so far has been rather surreal, almost like a movie, and that they are enjoying all the new experiences as Ironmen.

Honors Vet Science students gain experience handling a rabbit, checking its heart rate, respiration rate, body temperature, and other vital signs. DHS graduate, Clare Charlton, brought in her rabbit for the practice clinic.
