In celebration of the last day of school and the conclusion of Paul Dennehy’s chemistry classes, sophomore Yoonseo Kwon and other chemistry students enjoyed making their own ice cream from scratch. Kwon especially enjoyed the process and said, “It was great to spend the last day of school outside making ice cream with friends, especially because we got to have fun while making it.”
The ice cream-making tradition will continue to be upheld by Dennehy for future chemistry classes. As Kwon would agree, taking a well-needed break at the end of a long year of memorization is a great way to end the year strong.

Earning a well-deserved spotlight, Agriculture teacher Mike Shultz received a nomination from the PA Association of Agricultural Educators for Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher Award. The nomination highlights his dedication to building a hands - on agriculture and FFA program at Danville. For Shultz, the priority is keeping up with a rapidly evolving field: “Ag is constantly changing. If you kind of get stuck teaching the same thing every year, year over year, you’re falling behind. You really have to keep up on things to stay current, so kids have the opportunities that are actually out there.” Shultz plans to keep innovating and improving the AG program, keeping a keen eye of the future beyond his tenure at Danville: “I’d like to leave the program in a good place to continue on and continue to serve the community.”
