We're proud to celebrate the successful completion of internships by three outstanding young ladies through the Ignite Summer Internship Program, a partnership between Danville Public Schools and the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research.

This summer, 57 students from Danville and Pittsylvania County participated in paid internships across 23 local businesses and public-sector organizations. The program provides students ages 14–18 with valuable, hands-on experience in high-demand careers while helping build the region's future workforce.

Throughout the summer, interns also participated in enrichment sessions with program staff and mentors that focused on developing professional skills, building confidence, and encouraging personal growth.

This morning, we had the pleasure of attending a celebratory breakfast recognizing the accomplishments of this year's interns.

To our three interns: Congratulations! We are incredibly proud of each of you. Your dedication, professionalism, and willingness to learn have been inspiring, and we have no doubt you each have a bright future ahead. Thank you for choosing the Danville Sheriff's Office as part of your journey. It has been an honor to help you strengthen your skills and gain valuable experience.

We wish you continued success and look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the years to come!

Good afternoon. We want to alert everyone about a scam currently circulating. Scam callers are claiming that individuals have missed court dates and are demanding payment for fines. Please be aware that no law enforcement agency will ever ask for money over the phone for missed court appearances or fines.
If you have any doubts or concerns about such calls, do not hesitate to contact us directly at 434-799-5135 for clarification. Stay vigilant and protect yourself from fraud.
