The Danville Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Danville Pittsylvania Community Services, celebrated four graduates of the Alpha Program Monday, June 1, 2026, at the James F. Ingram Justice Center (Danville Courthouse). Alpha is an intensive substance use program that assists individuals with services and supports that are essential to developing skills necessary to return to the community drug free and avoid incarceration. Melissa West, Courtney Robinette, Jessica Wimbush, and Brittney Dowdy completed the 16-week outpatient program that includes services for substance abuse while incarcerated with a goal of regaining purpose in their lives. Danville City Sheriff Mondul addressed the graduates encouraging them to utilize the skills they have learned to foster personal growth and commitment to change as they continue their journey. Family members and friends of the graduates came out to support their loved ones and share in their celebration of achievement. The Danville Sheriff’s Office extends a gratitude filled thank you to all those behind the scenes making this event memorable for all involved. A special thanks to Carrington Chambers (DPCS), Lieutenant Corey Dix (Danville Sheriff’s Office), Kristy Beasley (Danville Sheriff’s Office), and the many staff members who assisted daily in making this program a success.
