A BIG thank you to the USO volunteers for everything you did to support the service members participating in Northern Strike 26-2!

The events and activities you put on made a big difference. Even when the weather wasn’t cooperating, therapy dogs 🐾 Groot and Hutch were a hit with everyone they met.

Although, to be fair, Groot sometimes seemed more interested in the hot dogs than his mission ☺️🌭

Eyes on the skies.

During Northern Strike 26-2, U.S. Marines from Marine Air Control Squadron 2 (MACS-2) set up an expeditionary operating site (weight set included 🏋️) at Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airport.

In a new environment, working alongside multiple branches, they successfully executed mission-essential tasks, including arrival and departure control with an expeditionary system. A capability they can’t train on anywhere else in the continental U.S.

These Marines proved they can rapidly establish an operating site and provide air control wherever the mission takes them.

Ready. Lethal. Forward.

Who put a crater in the runway? 🧨 🚧 🛬

We did. But not to worry.

This week at Alpena CRTC, civil engineer teams from the 131st Bomb Wing and 139th Airlift Wing, Missouri Air National Guard, conducted Expeditionary Airfield Damage Repair.

E-ADR is a critical process that allows aircraft to safely land on a damaged runway.

🔥 Teamwork and Trust 🔥

After undergoing nearly two weeks of training and preparation during Northern Strike 26-2, firefighters with the Latvian National Armed Forces 🇱🇻 got the chance to put their skills into action by taking on a live-fire exercise at night.

Operating as a team in intense heat and limited visibility they successfully extinguished the flames, proving they are ready for action.
