Before joining our team as a General Library Clerk, Sydney was a familiar face at the library. She visited regularly to check out books, attend programs, and spend time in the space she came to love.

During her interview, Sydney shared that when she first moved to Danville, she worried about feeling lonely in a new community. But she quickly found a place where she belonged, right here at the library.

Today, she's helping create that same welcoming experience for others. We're so glad Sydney found her place at the library, and even happier she's now part of the library team.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Dino Stuffy Adoption event today!🦖💚

It was a wonderful day filled with smiles and excitement, complete with a storytime led by Mrs. Frankie, snacks, and adoption certificates. What made us happiest was seeing so many children and families head to the Children's Department after the program to check out books to take home and read with their newly adopted dino pals. That's exactly what is all about, discovering new adventures and sharing the joy of reading together.

We can't wait to see what adventures your new dinosaurs have as you read together this summer. 📚🦕

Read-Alongs combine an ebook with built-in narration that highlights each word as it's read aloud, helping young readers follow along independently while building literacy skills and confidence.

🦖🎨 Week one of Cretaceous Creations was a roaring success!

Using inspiration from cave drawings and the art of wax-resist painting, participants designed their own canvas totes, perfect for carrying library books all summer long.

We're hatching baby chicks here at the library this summer! Why? Well, as the Smithsonian Magazine says "The closest living relatives of Tyrannosaurus rex are birds such as chickens."

Over the next few weeks, we'll be watching these eggs closely as we wait for our tiny dinosaurs 🐣 to arrive.
