Pope Memorial Library

Pope Memorial Library The Pope Memorial Library, built in 1890, was funded by Mrs. Pope in memory of her husband Charles. We have two public access computers and WiFi.

We are a busy community library that serves our neighbors of all ages. Our adult and children's book collections are extensive and current with new books arriving every week. Our circulating materials also include DVD's, books on CD and two Kindles. We also offer downloadable audio and e-books. Visit our website to learn more.

We are accepting book donations of up to three medium sized boxes or bags for our book sale from now until May 20. Books should be in good condition, clean and odor free. Please call the library to arrange a time for them to be delivered.
The book sale will be held at the Pope Community Center, Memorial Day weekend, May 23, 24, and 25 from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Once upon a time there was a dragon at the library. It sat on the shelf overlooking the children's room. Years went by. It became worn and tired. Miss Marilyn took it upstairs where it sat in a corner and rested. The dragon was not happy. What it needed was a makeover. Who could make this happen? The art students at Danville School, that's who! Now the dragon has taken its place on the shelf in the children's room once again. Oh, what a happy dragon. Thank you students for creating a most fabulous dragon. You are awesome!! Thank you Abby Bartell, Abigail Bartell Art, art teacher extraordinaire for saying yes to this project and providing encouragement to your students throughout this creative effort.
