Discovery Counseling Center Affordable, culturally responsive mental health clinic and training agency supporting the San Ramon Valley community since 1971.

Discovery Counseling Center is a community based non-profit organization serving the San Ramon Valley for over 50 years. Discovery Counseling Center’s mission is to be the community’s leader in mental wellness by:
-Providing affordable, high quality, culturally appropriate and accessible counseling services and programs;
-Offering excellent and highly-regarded training for future mental health pr

ofessionals;
-Creating greater awareness of the prevalence of mental wellness issues in our community and the importance of early treatment;
-Serving as the community’s advocate in securing adequate funding and resources for the treatment of mental wellness issues. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Mission Statement:
This committee will be Discovery Counseling Center’s agent for ensuring that the agency supports our diverse staff and the community which we serve by:
-Implementing effective Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies and practices;
- Providing on-going DEI training and education for Board members and staff;
-Promoting a safe environment in which DEI issues and concerns can be discussed and addressed; and
-Evaluating progress in our goal to be an inclusive, diverse and equitable workplace.

✨Celebrating an incredible year of impact! We recently gathered to recognize the amazing work of our School Counseling and Intervention Program (SCIP) counselors during the 2025–2026 school year.

It was a special opportunity for our SCIP counselors and Clinic Associates to connect, celebrate accomplishments, and welcome the counselors who will continue their journey with Discovery Counseling Center in the clinic this fall.

Through our longstanding partnership with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, SCIP provides school-based individual and group counseling at all 22 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, 4 high schools, and 2 alternative education sites throughout the district.

Thank you to our dedicated counselors, supervisors, staff, and partners for the compassion, expertise, and care you bring to this work every day. 💙

🏳️‍🌈 Valley Pride 2026 is a celebration of love, identity, inclusion, and community. Join us! 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🖤🩶🤍🤎

Now in its third year, Valley Pride brings together people of all ages for a joyful day of education, connection, advocacy, and celebration in the heart of Danville. From inspiring speakers and community resources to music, family activities, children’s art, and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Bring a picnic, gather with friends and neighbors, and join us as we stand in solidarity with our local LGBTQIA+ community while creating a space rooted in belonging, visibility, and radical welcome. 🌈✨

Valley Pride is made possible through the partnership of the Town of Danville, Danville Congregational Church, PFLAG Danville-San Ramon Valley, the San Ramon Valley Diversity Coalition, and Discovery Counseling Center — all Tri-Valley organizations committed to justice, inclusion, and community care.
