NEWS RELEASE: Badge Pinning Ceremony, Academy Graduation Held This Week
Ten new Danville Police Department officers were pinned Thursday at 1 Community Way and graduated on Friday from the Piedmont Regional Criminal Justice Training Academy.
During Thursday’s ceremony, friends and family gathered in the Multipurpose Room to watch as Kymber Cook, Charlene Crews, Kenneth Evans, Craig Lichtenfeld, Joclyn Martin, Joshua Piedra, Christopher Pritchett, Colby Richardson, Matthew Stone, and Robert Walters received their officer badge.
On Friday at the New College Institute in Martinsville, the officers received their certificate of completion from PRCJTA. Awards were also presented during the ceremony.
Officer Lichtenfeld won first place in fi****ms with Officer Evans and Walters tying for second place, and Officer Stone in third place.
Officer Piedra was presented with the academic award.
Officer Pritchett was presented with the director’s award.
The new officers will now enter the Department’s B.R.I.D.G.E. Program (Building Relationships, Inspiring Dialogue, Growing Engagement). This immersive four-week program focuses on community engagement, connections with stakeholders, an overview of Danville, and the completion of a community project.
