Today was the first session of Pat Ackerman's Guys Read and we had good attendance and a wonderful time reading about the World Cup, some players, and pinning a map to show where players were born and where they now live (play). We also enjoyed a special snack. Sugar soccer ball cookies.

Randi Spayd, Friend of the Thomas Beaver Free Library, has received Board approval and blazed ahead to create a 'Friends Book Nook,' where patrons can purchase hardcover and paperback books and support the Friends once a week, rather than just once a year. This will not replace the Friends Annual Book Sale, which occurs the second weekend in September.

Come visit the Friends Book Nook this Thursday, May 22nd, from 11 am - 4 pm, located in the gymnasium.

Randi needs additional volunteers, willing to help staff the 'shop' on Thursdays. Also taking donations of very gently-used, recent books. Most hardcovers and trade paperbacks are no more than $1, standard paperbacks will sell for 50 cents.

Please contact Randi at 570-437-9001 leave message.

While visiting the Friends Book Nook, please renew your annual Friends membership, or consider becoming a Life Member.
