Southern Virginia Regional Alliance The Southern Virginia Regional Alliance's mission is to accelerate job growth and increase the tax b shell building with 30' clear ceilings.

Situated along the border of Virginia and North Carolina, the Southern Virginia Regional Alliance's mission is to accelerate job growth and increase the tax base for the counties of Halifax, Patrick and Pittsylvania, the city of Danville and the towns of Stuart, Chatham, Hurt, Gretna, Halifax, South Boston, Scottsburg, and Virgilina.. A region built on manufacturing, we have access to over 60% of

the US population and over two-thirds of the US industrial base within a day's drive. Our region has 17 shovel ready sites ranging in size from 8 to 36 pad acres and a multitude of existing buildings including a 105,000 sq.ft. Southern Virginia is also home to a variety of workforce training facilities dedicated to helping our new and existing industries train the employees needed in order to be successful.

We are so glad to have Amare on our team this summer!

We would like to introduce you to Amare White, an SVRA Research & Data Analysis intern at IALR!

As an intern, Amare helps collect and analyze data to support economic initiatives, assists with social media and publications, and supports meetings and industry outreach efforts.

With a passion for history and government, Amare is captivated by the debates and perspectives the Constitution invites. One day, he hopes to become a corporate lawyer. When he's off the clock, you can find him relaxing with Netflix or listening to his favorite music.

When describing himself, he said, "I like to think I am smart, I can stay focused and I am ready for anything. I am on a mission to learn, grow and succeed—no matter what it takes."

NEWS RELEASE: Area Development Magazine’s 20th Annual Shovel Awards awarded a Gold Shovel to Virginia in the 8-12 million population category, recognizing Microporous as a top contributing project in 2024! Microporous was also recognized as an Area Development “Project of the Year." 🎉

In November of 2024, Microporous, a lithium-ion battery separator manufacturer, announced plans to invest $1.35 billion to establish a facility in the Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill, creating 2,015 jobs. ⚒️
