Over 10,000 teams throughout the US entered the USYS Presidents Cup back in March. Today, CSSC Phoenix was one of two teams in the National Finals competing for a title at the U16 level. Through 63 minutes of play, the teams traded chances and shared time in controlling the run of play. South Dakota scored on a late goal off of a set piece to take a 1-0 lead. For the final 17 minutes, Phoenix pushed numbers into the attack and created multiple last-minute opportunities. They were unable to get to equalizer and fell short by a score of 1-0.
Coming from a small town in PA, these girls continue to put their name and the CSSC soccer club on the map throughout the country. These girls should be incredibly proud of their achievements and continual growth, ranging from competing at small in-state leagues beginning at U9 to competing in a national title game eight years later. They've traveled all over the US and represented our club with class. Congratulations, ladies.🐦‍🔥

The Phoenix girls are officially FINALS BOUND after a hard-fought 1-0 win against Maryland's Elevate Soccer Academy this morning.
The game’s lone goal came in the 55th minute, with Kennedy North setting up Delaney Willoughby for the finish. From there, Addy Boyer and Emilee Dalton anchored a spectacular defensive effort and locked it down to secure the shutout.
One more game tomorrow as CSSC Phoenix will see South Dakota in the Presidents Cup National Championship game at 9:30am (10:30 EST).

They're moving on to the semis! CSSC Phoenix finished group play this morning with a solid 4-1 win over Midland SC, Michigan. The girls secured their spot in the semifinals with 9 points in their bracket.
The girls opened scoring midway through the first half when Delaney Willoughby found the corner of the net off a direct kick just outside the 18. Phoenix went on to score two more goals off of set pieces when Gabby Kashi and Willoughby both scored goals off of corner kicks from Kaci Grimm. To round off the scoring, Amelia Hoffman served a beautiful punt into the attacking third allowing Kashi to run onto it and beat the keeper for the goal.
Semifinals are set for Friday morning at 8am (9am EST).

The CSSC Phoenix girls got their second win this morning at the National Presidents Cup by defeating Greene County, Arkansas 3-0. Gabby Kashi netted 2 goals and Delaney Willoughby added a third. Kaci Grimm finished the game with 2 assists. Amelia Hoffman kept a clean sheet in goal, while Kennedy North dominated the midfield play.
Phoenix will finish group play tomorrow morning against Midland SC, Michigan. Kickoff is 8am (9am EST).

CSSC Phoenix started off strong in their first group play game this morning. The girls battled a very talented Tempo Surge, South Dakota team to a 2-1 win.
Phoenix scored early in the first half from the run of play with the finish by Delaney Willoughby. Late in the first half, Kaci Grimm drew a penalty in the 18 and Delaney buried the PK. For the remainder of the game, the back 4 shut it down, including gritty performances by Emilee Dalton and Sierra Thomas.
Phoenix will play again tomorrow morning at 8am (9am EST), against Greene County, Arkansas.

The CSSC Phoenix U16 girls are all set for the National Presidents Cup in Wichita, KS. They open group play tomorrow at 10am with Tempo Surge, South Dakota. It's their third trip to Nationals and they are ready to bring home the trophy🏆
