Yesterday afternoon crews were sent to Route 54/642 for a two vehicle auto accident. No injuries and vehicles were able to be moved off the roadway.

In the evening, crews were dispatched to a tree, pole, and power lines down on Bull Run Road. Crews closed the road at both ends and waited for PPL to arrive.

North Shore Railroad brought some different types of train cars and explained dangerous areas, and what fire personnel should look out for in case of a rail emergency. Yesterday afternoon we were dispatched to Rt. 54/642 for cement in the roadway. Updated location ended up being Rt. 54/254. Since we were already on the road, crews assisted St. 80 with cleanup. Having CAFS made this job easier by allowing us to fill the hose with just air and blow the road off.

Crews were alerted to a building collapse at the Danville Suites Hotel this afternoon. Chief 90, Rescue 97, and Engine 93 arrived on scene and was informed of an individual going in and out of the hotel. Due to the possibility of more trespassers in an already condemned building, the entire hotel was searched room by room. Power was shut off due to deteriorating conditions. 8 members responded.

Monday morning started out with a vehicle accident at Liberty Valley Road and Old Valley School Road. Station 90 with a crew of 9 mitigated the diesel fuel leak with a kiddie pool. Station 100, DFP, and Geisinger EMS assisted on scene. Montour EMA was notified as well.

We send our condolences to the family and friends of Trooper Michael Pahira.

The Department is deeply saddened to announce the loss of a dedicated member of our ranks, Trooper Michael E. Pahira, Jr. He was assigned as a Motor Carrier Inspector at PSP Frackville and was killed in the line of duty on July 1. Read more at bit.ly/PSP-MEP26.
