Tuesday morning units responded to this MVA on Route 54. Off the roadway and a little bit of clean up kept this incident short.

We are a proud recipient of the State Farm Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program! 150 departments in the US were selected for this grant; 7 being from PA. Thousands of applicants applied in 2026. Each department received $10,000 which our award will be going towards 3 new sets of turnout gear. We're thankful to be chosen for this award which provides us a huge financial relief.

Two calls for service yesterday. First being at 1748 for an accident on I-80. All dispatched units responded, but nothing was found.

2245 last night units were dispatched to Center Road in Liberty Township for a motorcycle vs. deer. Station 100 units got on scene and placed Rescue 97 available prior to arriving on scene.

We're thankful to all the taxpayers and residents who support us financially. We are a highly active volunteer department providing around-the-clock protection to our community. Despite having limited resources, we remain strongly committed to protecting the safety and well-being of those we serve.

Yesterday crews responded to an MVA at the 224 WB mile marker on I-80. It was initially reported with entrapment, but bystanders were able to get the victims out before our arrival. The tractor trailer was assessed by E103 and sustained minor damage but the car had disabling damage. 9 members responded and assisted with cleanup and traffic control.

Last night units were called to Vansant Road in Liberty Township for another MVA but was recalled by Chief 100 while enroute.

First alarm units were dispatched to the Army Reserve Center on Liberty Valley Road yesterday for a possible commercial structure fire. Chief 90 arrived on scene and reported nothing evident on the 360. Crews went interior and to the roof to investigate. A few minutes later, smoke started to be seen in the ridge vent on the Charlie side. Since metal sheeting was only visible from the interior, the only way to extinguish the fire was from the roof. Knowing this was going to be an extensive operation more apparatus for manpower was called. Crews dealt with thick roofing material on top of the high temperatures.

We'd like to thank everyone who responded and assisted on scene. This incident involved more than just firefighting units. The assistance of Montour County Sheriff's office and Montour EMA played a big role as well.

Today one of our members was sworn in as a career firefighter for the Hazleton City Fire Department. Congrats to Nolan Frantz for achieving the best job in the world. We're all proud of you!

During the day yesterday crews were sent back out to I-80 West at the 218mm for an accident with confinement. Personnel removed both drivers side doors to gain access for EMS and patient removal. 4 members responded and cleared the box within 40 minutes.

This was the exact same spot where we extinguished a vehicle fire in the woods after an MVA a month or so ago.
