Big news from the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit!
We would like to introduce and congratulate Deputy Zero and his partner K9 Handler McGinnis on successfully completing an intensive six-week Patrol Canine School.
But wait there’s more…we also want to congratulate Deputy Doc and his new partner K9 Handler Brennan who also just completed Patrol Canine School as well.
Earning the title of Canine Handler is no easy task. It requires countless hours of training, unwavering dedication, and a commitment that extends far beyond a normal workday. During this intensive program, our newest Canine teams developed the skills necessary to perform a wide range of duties, including patrol work, obedience, tracking, building searches, evidence recovery, and handler protection.
The bond between a Handler and Canine partner is built through daily training, trust, and consistent care. Success in this field demands a level of responsibility and effort that continues long after formal training has ended. Each team has embraced these challenges with determination and professionalism.
We commend both the Handlers and their Canine partners for the hard work they have invested throughout this process. Their dedication to excellence has prepared them to serve our County and communities with confidence, reliability, and pride.

Their commitment to law enforcement training has been invaluable, providing training venues, vehicles, and realistic training scenarios that help prepare Canine teams for the challenges they may face in the field. Their continued partnership has played a significant role in the success and development of many teams over the years.
